Arabic hadith textعن عائشة رضي الله عنها ، قالت: لما مات النبيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قالوا: أين يُدْفنُ؟ فقال أبو بكر: في المكان الذي مات فيه.
English translation‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) died, the people said: "Where is he to be buried?" Abu Bakr said: "In the place where he died."
ExplanationExplanation of the hadith
When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) died, his Companions differed on where they should bury him. Abu Bakr As-Siddīq said that he should be buried where he died. In some versions, Abu Bakr heard the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) say that no Prophet had ever died except in the place where he liked to be buried.
