Let not the fear of people prevent any man among you from speaking the truth when he sees it or knows it

Arabic hadith text

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «لَا يَمْنَعَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْكُمْ مَخَافَةُ النَّاسِ أَنْ يَتَكَلَّمَ بِالْحَقِّ إِذَا رَآهُ أَوْ عَلِمَهُ».

English translation

Abu Sa‘īd al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:

Abu Sa‘īd al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let not the fear of people prevent any man among you from speaking the truth when he sees it or knows it."

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) addressed his Companions, and among the advice he gave was that a Muslim should not be deterred by the fear or power of people from speaking the truth or commanding it when he sees or knows it.
